eCommerce / Shopping Cart software

I’m looking for recommendation on eCommerce / Shopping Cart software. I have a medium-sized store with a couple hundred products. I’m currently using iBill, but need a more integrated solution.

I need something compatible with a Cobalt raq4. The server is owned by a friend so I have access to install whatever is necessary.

I have already tried Miva Merchant and wasn’t very impressed with the quality or speed.

Some features I’m looking for are:
- User registration with login/logout
- Save Wish List / Favorites without checking out
- Search for products
- Very configurable shipping charges

Anyone have any experience or recommendations they could share?

The only supported e-commerce solution I've ever seen for Unix is RedHat's E-Commerce Suite. I was running some web sites a while back and we needed a dozen or so e-commerce sites. I spent a long time researching Unix-based ones, but they all reeked. Finally had to go with an NT (*shudder*) solution. The credit-card fulfillment was a large part of the problem. But the RedHat solution came out after then. It's been going for a few years now, so I would assume that it's reasonably good.

Well I have an option to move this site to a NT machine down the road, so I would be interested in those solutions as well. I'm pretty good with ASP myself (no flames please), so it's something I wouldn't mind doing.

The RedHat Interchange demo looks pretty good, a bit pricey tho.

Well, it's actually an open-source solution, so you can get it for free. I don't know exactly what you get by paying the $3000.00 (probably help with banks), but you can probably do it all yourself for free (except for the banks). Check out the ``Developers Site''. You can download it from there.

Hey, I've got an idea -- why don't you just contract it out to some professional operation that makes their living doing e-commerce? Some outfit like, say, Digital River. They'd do a bang-up job for you. Or was that a bankrupt job... I forget.

It just so happens that I am trying to implement a shopping cart also. So far I have setup two test systems with RedHat Interchange. It is VERY good software. Once setup, it's pretty idiot proof to administer... like a Yahoo! Store (I used to admin one). So far I've installed Interchange on Mandrake 8.1 and RedHat 7.1 successfully.

Alternatively, I was also looking at EZWebStore. This one seems easier to setup and looks attractive.

I did a lot of research this weekend and found AceFlex™ B2C. It's got a lot of features and I really like the look/feel of the store. Plus it's asp so I would feel comfortable if I needed to change something.

Any opinions or comments before I grab my wallet?

I'm planning to move to IIS down the road. Partially due to the lack of complete shopping cart solutions, but mostly to the slow speed of dynamic pages with my current host.

Not that I would use it, but there is also ChilliSoft ASP.

Seriously, I suggest that you search for e-commerce or similar at Freshmeat. There are dozens of hits, but I don't know whether any will satisfy your needs.

What's wrong with chllisoft asp? Are there any major web hosting companies using it?

I guess I should have made my first post clearer. This is for a pretty small store that I do part time on the side. I get only 2-5 orders a day and have about around 150 products. I'm not amazon.com or anything like that. I'm looking for something really simple that does not take a lot of my time to setup or maintain.
