NuB question re: eTantrum's Songprint software - 08/01/2002 00:45

Supposedly the best auto ID3 tagger, but how do I install it then run it in Win98? I don't see any executables. I unzipped it to a folder, now what?

Thanks,

Curly

You have to compile the source into a exe file.

Hmm, I don't know how to compile source(code?) into an exe file. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps there's a URL that I can DL the compiled proggy?

I'd really like to get these unID'd MP3s taken care of before loading them into the player. And unfortunately about half of my 2600 MP3s don't have ID3 Tags. :-(

Thanks,

Curly

Before you worry about compiling your own version of SongPrint (suffice it to say that if you don't know how to do it, it's probably not the right thing for you), have a stab at MP3 Tag Studio. And a quick read through this FAQ entry.

Another option is that the latest registered version of MusicMatch is supposed to detect the tag information for you based on things like the file name and the song title.

Thanks Tony! I'll go with MP3 Tag Studio.
