ddin't you read loren's fast food post? I have to run so I can't pull it up right now. But if you read it you might have second thoughts about the fast food industry. Not that I care though, I will eat anything.

That'd be this post. Even some references to Wendy's in there. And some friendly vegetarian-bashing which is always a real hoot.

I love their chili but someone I knew who worked at Wendy's said that burger patties that sit around too long end up being turned into chili. I don't know if he was serious or not, and it hasn't stopped me from eating their yummy chili (especially with a few of the chili sauce packets they give you, yum) but it's still something to think about.

I have heard this also. But the version that I heard was that "today's unsold patties are tomorrows chili." I don't think this is too repulsive. Dave Thomas used to eat Wendy's chili everyday... oh wait, that doesn't help my argument.

I used to think that Wendy's hamburgers were the best around.

I've just discovered one better. The grill at the Prosperity Lanes bowling alley in Grass Valley, CA. Best burgers I've ever eaten.

The best thing about bowling is the greasy food! For me there are two places that I know I can go for a mad-good burger. One is a chain called Ruby Tuesday. Although it's not a huge burger, it is very tasty and it looks to be good quality meat. The other place is a diner near my old school called City Limits in White Plains, NY. I only ate there twice, but it was very good.

There is still nothing that beats their hamburger in a combo meal with decent fries and a Pepsi or Mountain Dew. Too bad all the Wendy's outside Colorado Springs tend to serve Coke.

I bought a recipe book of "secret" fast food recipes and among these recipes was Wendy's chili. The recipe is remarkably identical, and composed of extremely healthy ingredients. I recommend it, except I don't have the title of the book on me. It's a yellow cover.

The Bacon Ultimate cheesburger is only good when the town doesn't have a Wendy's....

That's good, now the brits can make some. Now all we need is a "spotted dick" recipe... or whatever it is they eat over there.

I think the Wendy's Classic Triple comes very, very close. It's a more filling, but the Jack in the Box Bacon Ultimate has more complex flavors and is hence more satisfying. The Wendy's Chili on the other hand, there's nothing that can really compete with it.

yes! That's the recipe I've used 4 or 5 times and it is a perfect replica of the Wendy's chili recipe. When you first assemble the ingredients prior to cooking, it does not visually resemble Wendy's chili at all, but after the brew is cooked for the proper amount of time, preferably longer than the recipe states, it tastes just as good. I brew mine on a closed pot over a small flame for hours. ... as I imagine the restaurant itself probably simmers it for hours. It really brings the flavor and juices out.
