[obligatory Homer Simpson-esque reply]
So when will the donut tree arrive?
How about the beer tree?

Coming from my roommate: (understanding of some sarcasm required)
"Yeah ...
I'll try those weird fruit trees ... in about 10 years ... when everyone has died from their genetically enhanced tree poisons ... and they've taken control of all the cities and agriculture ... I 'll eat em alright ... I'll eat em as the light slowly fades from a hellishly grotesque mudball of a world, devoid of all life save the cutesy, ever-so-convenient fruit-salad trees ...
George
PS Bad idea. (Remember, this is coming from a bio major)"

mmmmmmmmmmmm.......genetically enhanced tree poisons

Re: Citrus - 01/05/2002 16:58
Ummmm. It's just grafted. No genetic alterations.

Re: Citrus - 01/05/2002 20:01
Your roommate needs to get out more. Grafting is a 'natural' process. No use of GM at all.
Drugs are bad..mmmmkay

Yeah, grafting has been around a long time.

"Drugs are bad..mmmmkay"
Where does that phrase come from?

Re: Citrus - 02/05/2002 03:03
cutesy, ever-so-convenient fruit-salad trees
I'd just like to say at this point: Magic Faraway Tree.

Re: Citrus - 02/05/2002 04:00
The quote : "Drugs are bad, mmmkay" actually comes from the series, more specifically the episode called "Ike's Wee Wee", where Mr mackey turns to drugs after loosing his job. Great episode! (like most of them!)

No, I was serious. I don't think I've ever watched a full episode of South Park.

Re: Citrus - 02/05/2002 10:05
Well you should then. I liked The Simpsons, but I absolutely LOVED South Park.
Parker & Stone really rock. (Hint : if you like South Park, make sure to go and rent the comedy BaseKetball one day. From and with the makers of South Park! Kickass!)

In reply to:

Did you use the past tense to refer to the sucking of the current season or just because you weren't paying attention? It'd been downhill ever since kenny died.

Re: Citrus - 02/05/2002 14:53
No, I actually used the past tense because only the first four seasons have been broadcasted over here (and only the first 3 are available on DVD). It's been more than a year now and I'm still waiting for the next season. It's like it's been so long, the episodes might have ended right there for me.
(it's only thanks to the internet that I know that there are more to come)
Damn... What do you mean : Kenny dies? He dies every episode? (except for one that I know of). Do you mean he'll get killed for good in a (for me) future episode?
Man, I can understand how that must suck! Kenny is one of the most important characters!
Yes, Kenny is killed off indefinately, and the show really has lost something to it. Kenny has been replaced with butters. I havent figured out why they did this, or if they plan on bringing him back.
any ideas?

Re: Citrus - 02/05/2002 15:05
I don't even know this butters character (I've heard of him, but haven't seem an episode with him in it)
Hmmm...come to think of it, I remember one of the creaters saying in an interview that the Kenny character was getting on their nerves because they had ran out of original ways for him to die.
I guess they really meant that and saw no other possibility than to remove the character from the series...
damn shame....

Re: Citrus - 02/05/2002 15:06
But you have to admit, the episode where Butters' mom snaps and tries to kill him, then tries to cover it up, was hilarious, especially the speech at the end.
"Because then people would look at me and say MURDERER! LIAR!..."

Re: Citrus - 02/05/2002 15:15
Between the Simpsons and South Park, there isn't a political or social issue that hasn't been covered.
Southpark I have beleived, when it comes to social or political aspects was made to piss off everyone to the point where they are not descriminating against anybody, they have everyone covered. If you dont beleive me just watch the movie.
Yeah, that episode, while rather disturbing was funny as hell. but I guess I could use that to describe just about any episode.

Wow... went from multi-fruited trees to south park in 10 posts flat. Gotta be a new record in randomness!
