Office Space - 09/07/2002 11:04

Swingline just made the red stapler from the movie Office Space available. Apparently they never made a red stapler, so the one in the movie was custom.

I rarely use a stapler, but I will have to get this one. That movie is da bomb!

Always happy to share useless movie knowledge with those who appreciate it as much as I do.

I never bothered to find out if anyone else really agreed with me on this, but I always really sympathized with Milton on this point, because Boston staplers really do suck! Swingline staplers outperform them to no end, to the point where I always request a Swingline when I start a new job (although I prefer the standard metal model).

Personally, I love the huge FiberCastell electric stapler sitting next to me at my desk as I type this. Enter a piece of paper in the thing and WHACK!! This thing is LOUD! It's kinda scary, especially when you see that it will work with it's protective cover up!

Thanks, it's not hard when you only do 15 minutes of actual work each day. But that's not counting when I zone out for a couple hours in the morning.

I still didn't order mine yet. Let me know if it doesn't bind-up as much as the Boston.

Re: Office Space - 03/08/2002 14:30

Oh man this thing is a workhorse! I concur with Milton...
It says it staples 2-20 pages, I bet it can handle a single page as well

Re: Office Space - 05/08/2002 11:43

I have a lovely red (but not "Rio Red"!] Rexel 56, and wouldn't be parted from it. But I really could do with something long enough to staple my playlist booklet... (No, I haven't forgotten my promise to post the code when jEmplode v42 arrives).

Re: Office Space - 27/10/2002 12:25

I *finally* saw this movie the other night. Decently amusing (except that I kept looking at Milton and going "Wow, is that me??").

One thing that caught my eye was when the fractured, wheelchair-bound character (John?) showed off his party game at his house, one of the squares said "Loose One Turn". Internet Spelling Disorder makes its way into other areas of pop culture! I am no spelling role model, but that whole lose/loose thing makes me crazy. I can't decide (how the heck would I know?) whether it was simply an unedited manifestation of ISD on the part of the screenwriter or an ironic jab at spelling by techies! 50-50 odds, I'd say.
