Suggestion for a Karma addon

Since the Karma has a USB Host, it would be really cool to use the Karma as a file store for photos while on the road. Plug in some sort of adaptor, then put in the memory card and hit a button to trigger the transfer.

The only thing is that you would need USB drivers for that. Now, since it has a file taxi...

It would probably be very difficult for an end user to add it. The Karma runs eCos and the actual player is linked to the kernel so it's not like Linux where we can add whatever we want whilst keeping the player running.

Ask the empeg team very nicely and pay for a few rounds and see how it goes

Rob, I remember reading somewhere that the Karma will be able stream files and I was wondering if it would be able to use a compact 80211b usb wireless adapter (without using the dock) to send either mp3 or even FLAC files to an access point and then sent to my stereo.

Not in the first firmware release, it won't. It would be a cool feature, but it's not in 1.0.

if it did support streaming could it connect to the cd3o c300 digital audio reciever? It needs a computer to connect to but maybe it could somehow recognize the Karma instead?

I suspect we'd give priority to streaming to Rio products. But if that thing's protocol is relatively sane, or if, saints be praised, it's actually standardised, then it's certainly a possibility.

I dunno that simply having a Microsoft copyrighted document means that it is automatically a standard..

But I suppose it's a start, to something..

im impartial to what it streams to as long as i could possibly use the karma to walk around my house with it and send songs to my stereo all without wires using wi-fi so it is perfect digital quality.
