RMM keeps crashing - 03/12/2006 12:48
Never had it before but every time I try to upload a playlist it errors, no text in the error box, just a yellow and black exclamation mark. Next time it starts up it rescans, try to upload, same result...
I'm on Win2k with RMM 2.96
Any ideas?

Might be a corrupt database. Try deleting/renaming your database file and letting RMM rebuild from scratch. The file is called source0.db and should be in your "%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Rio\Rio Music Manager" folder.

I think this same problem was reported in another thread a long time ago. Can anyone with good search-fu supply a link?

I'll try rebuilding the DB.

Just been looking through my playlists, the first playlist that comes up in RMM seems to have issues, if I go in to edit it I can't save changes, says it's in use by another application. I've deleted and recreated it and will try again

Deleted the DB, deleted the playlist, saved the new playlist to a different name (was 1 radio.m3u, now 1-radio.m3u) and still the same result.
Will search for the previous post

Will do, I've also stripped all the tags. I'm going to reboot too, just in case.

Must have been something to do with the files, unusually for me there were some files downloaded from the BBC in there, they had all sorts of tags including long comments, copyright and images. Stripped everything, redid the playlist, rebooted. All OK now.

So, based on this and the other thread that got popped-to-top recently, we now have two different known-causes for RMM crashing?
- Corrupted M3U playlists.
- MP3 files with huge garbage like pictures and stuff embedded in the tags.
Sound about right?
