Delivery to Hotel room - 24/04/2001 06:24

Perhaps someone in the USA would know if this is going to be possible. I am out in the USA for a week, in a hotel. I wonder if it would be possible to order a Dell Reciever and get it shipped to my hotel ?

Ive tried this in the past, and I've never been able to get them to deliver - they assume that you will say that you never asked for it.

Similar to delivering to a PO Box.

Let us know how you get on though!

Paul.

Not really.

The reason FedEx and UPS can't deliver to Post Office Boxes is because they aren't the US Post Office. They can't drive their trucks into the US Post Office loading dock and unload their packages into the boxes inside the post offices. The only people who can do that are US Postal Service employees.

I don't know anything about hotel deliveries, but that would be a completely different thing than PO boxes, though. Not similar at all.

We often have stuff sent to hotels for shows - no problems there. The only issue might be the cardholder's address issue.

Ah, right, right. Some companies, to help prevent credit card fraud, will refuse to ship merchandise to anything other than the cardholder's billing address. I'm sure we can all understand the need for this.

Oh, I didn't realise that.

UK Companies won't ship to PO Boxes or Hotels either - althought I assumed that this was a fraud prevention system, not 'cos they can't.

Cheers,

Paul
