WMA- high bit rate just poppin' version 1.04

WMA do not work. rioreceiver is just poppin and not playin'
Any way around this?
just purchases a rebadged dell digital audio receiver.
with 1.04 software.

Have you determine if MP3s play ok, and therefore its just a WMA issue? What bitrate are the WMA files and what type of connection are you using between the server and Rio Receiver?

It seems to play regular wmas fine. Its the variable bit rate ones that seem to be the problem. The display never has the same bitrate that xp says its encodes as. ITs always lower and its hit or miss if it plays or pops.
I am using windows media 9 to rip. So much for promises of updated firmware to keep up with the times. I am using an ethernet port. not the telephone port.
It seems like i will be stuck with 192k.

Does any of the replacement player software support wma? If so maybe they could pick up the wma 9 codecs? Or... maybe use server-side controls to stream the files?
