Receiver remote

Receiver remote - 26/08/2003 02:15

The remote on my Dell badged Receiver seems to have gone dead. Does it work on a standard set of codes and what number? obviously I want to check out whether it's the remote or the receiver that's at fault, by using a universal remote. Anybody know?

Have you replaced the batteries?

Also, you can "reboot" the remote by removing the batteries for a minute and putting them back in.

I want to check out whether it's the remote or the receiver that's at fault, by using a universal remote.

There are also a few other ways you can check, as described here. That's for a different remote, but most of what's in there applies to any remote. My favorite way of checking is by looking at the front of the remote with my digital camera.

Thanks, as always, for the prompt advice. It's a new unit, with new batteries (You may recall that I won it at Amersfoort), on closer inspection, it occurred that the up select button was stuck down, maybe the moulding is slightly malformed, I couldn't quite see, so I don't know if it's a manufacturing fault. Anyway, judicious use of a jeweller's file seems to have cured it.

Cool, glad it's all sorted!

I appear to be having a similar problem.
Just bought a SonicBlue (Dell rebadge) receiver.

I have it playing music with the stock software (1.04) but the remote doesn't seem to work.

I've replaced the batteries.

In an attempt to see if the remote is sending anything I tried to capture the code with a learning remote, but it says it doesn't receive anything.

Any other suggestions or possible sources for replacment remotes would be good.

Thanks
Jim

Well at least I know the receiver is working. I found a ccf file for the Dell Audio Receiver, loaded it onto my pda/remote and the player responds.

So can I fix my existing my SonicBlue remote or is their a place I can get a replacment?

One more question now I'm here. Does the Reciever support Hierarchical playlists?
