RioPlay 0.28 problem

RioPlay 0.28 problem - 25/07/2002 11:55

Dave,

For some oddball reason I can no longer play a certain set of MP3s off of the server from my PC. When I start the MP3, it seems that rioplay must just exit and init restarts it. The log from its http server is essentially empty (i.e., as if it has just restarted), with the exception of the following:
Warning RemoteThread.cc 230 Unhandled remote code 0x10011

These MP3s played just fine with RioPlay 0.26.

Any recommendations as to how one would go about debugging this?

Thanks,
Marc

I just noticed that the set of MP3s with which I am having trouble are recorded at 96Kbps bitrate.

Seems this has nothing to do with the bitrate of the MP3. I have no idea within what part of the code it is breaking. Hopefully with the effort of putting the development environment on SourceForge I can hack in some additional logging information. It certainly will be helpful to make the log persistent.

Turns out that the problem was a stack overflow in RioPlay's Http.cc file, because the requested album string was too long. Oops. I fixed this code in RioPlay, which hopefully will become part of the next release.

I've been otherwise occupied the last few weeks, but maybe now I can concentrate on wrapping up some of mef's enhancements along with some of my own into another release here soon...
