Reciever. What do you mean by transceiver? All front panel inputs and IR inputs are sent to /dev/ir.

It comes with an infrared remote control, too.

Can one send IR signals? If so, then a IR remote control (e.g., an old palm pilot) could be used to display the contents of what's being put on the Rio's LCD display.
I suppose it is the cheapo solution to use WiFi from something like an iPaq as a spiffed up remote control and contacting, say, your built in HTTP server.
But since /dev/ir is probably receive-only, this topic is moot.
