trio 0.1.6 linux java compatibility - 26/12/2005 05:15

whats up,
I think this software is great.
I just wanted to pass along something.

I can not use suns java 5 (1.5)
the web applet wont show the player tab

nor can I use blackdown java 1.4.2.02-1.
I cant even get the reciever to find the server with this one.

but if i use sun j2re-1_4_2_07-linux-i586.bin,
all is good.

this is on debian testing

btw,
I am also using ampache.org as my database with ampachereceiver.

Thanks for the post. Ampache w. the Rio Receiver add-on looks great. I've been stagnating on JReceiver, which is no longer supported. I'll definately be installing Ampache, once I upgrade my distribution.

i just tried to access trio on my wifes window computer, which had been auto updated to java5 (1.5). it has the same issue where the 'player' tab doesnt come up. Does anyone else notice this, and is there anyone who can fix it ? I would like trio to stay updated.

as far as ampache, I am not using the latest one. I am using Ampache v.3.3.1.4.
here are my VERY unpolished notes on my installation

I've just moved from RHES3 and JReceiver to Gentoo and Ampache, using Paul Noffke's tRio with my Rio Receivers. I wasn't successful getting the current beta (Ampache-3.3.2-Beta2) working w. my Rio Receivers, so I downgraded to an earlier Ampache version (following your lead). My current working configuration:

Sun's J2SE 1.4.2.10-r2
Ampache-3.3.1.4
Roger Lipscombe's ssdp server
Jon Hodgson's AmpacheRecever
Current versions of dhcp, mysql, nfs

I had been using tRio w. JReceiver, but using the default trio.xml "arm" configuration, I haven't been able to get the Rio Receivers to find the server. I hope to see updates of AmpacheReceiver and tRio, with support for newer Ampache releases. I hope.
