Search request through HTTP syntax - 16/07/2002 05:31

Hi,

Is there a way to send a search request from a browser to the RioCar box ?
Being able to browse through the playlists is nice (http://riocar?playslists) but being able to search could even be better. But I couldn't find any details about this in the FAQ and the BBS.
Is there some syntax like http://riocar/search?artist=collins&year=1982 to do a search ? Are their CGIs on board to do this once you install Hijack ?

Say Yes ;-)

Since there is no HTTP interface on the player by default, the answer is no.

However, if you wanted to ask that same question of Hijack, which is a third-party add-on, then perhaps asking the question in the "programming" forum and directing it at Hijack might yield a more interesting answer.

I honestly don't know if it's even possible to do this in Hijack at all. I doubt it, but maybe if you prodded Mark about it nicely (in the "programming" forum), then perhaps he might think of an interesting way to make it happen.
