Mute Line

I seem to be having issues with the mute line on my Mk2a. From searching the BBS, I see that the Mk2a supposedly got a pulldown resistor over the Mk2 to stop the line floating up.

According to emplode I have it set to pause when input is +12 volts. If I leave the line disconnected, the unit goes into pause mode indicating the line is floating up to +12v. Can someone tell me if I really need the pull down resistor? I found two posts from Hugo saying that he thought the Mk2a got a pull down resistor.

And I definitely have a Mk2a and not a Mk2
