rsync/mp3tofid and empeg web interface - 02/01/2003 12:08

I've switched to using rsync as supplied and documented by Pim to get sync all my mp3's on my empeg.

Anyway, today I installed the web interface and that comes up and display ok. It display the screen of the empeg and all that works.

What doesn't work is when I click on either stream or download. The browser just gives file not found error and if you happen to be connected via the serial port you get messages like :-

khttpd: open(/drive0/fids/4371) failed, rc=-2
khttpd: open(/drive0/fids/10d0) failed, rc=-2

Neither of these files exist (obviously) as using mp3tofid and rsync there are more directories under fids not files.

Anyone got any ideas, or is it something that the web interface just isn't designed for?

mp3tofid by default uses the "new" hierarchical directory structure which the player supports since 2.00-beta13. Unfortunately, the hijack web interface does not support this structure. Mark wrote me he has this in his todo list.

In the mean time, you can force mp3tofid to use the "old" flat directory structure by using the -o switch.

If you have a small collection, you will not miss much. It would be a pity if you have a large tune collection, as you'll then miss the much better performing filesystem.
