when power is applied to my empeg(60gb), all it does on initiation, it goes between "loading playlists" and "loading music databases". i already tried replacing th hard drive cables, i reloaded the empeg software, and yet it still does the same thing! i am thoroughly annoyed. please help

Plug it into your PC with the serial cable and start up hyperterm/your_favourite_comms_package and give us the log. It'll say a bit more if there is a problem.

i don't understand what you want me to do. what is "start up hyperterm/your_favourite_comms_package". my empeg doesn't start at all. doesn't load the files or anything. just goes back and forth between those messages

ya, iam working again. just don't know which was the bad file so that i can delete it.
