Error: Could not connect socket - 02/06/2003 15:38

HI Empeg Freaks! ;-)

I have a Problem with my Empeg Mark 2 when I try to connect it over ethernet:
I can see the Player in Emplode, but when I click it, I get a Error Message: "Could not connect socket"
-This wasn't everytime so, I could easaly access my Empeg over Ethernet with Emplode and JEmplode! -And now none of them works.
I have also tried it on another OS an get the same error...

I _can_ also access the empeg on ethernet over FTP and WWW, so it can hardly be a problem with the hardware of the empeg...?

But what can it else be? And most important: How can I fix it?!

Of course I checked the settings and Network Broadcast is on; the same error occurs, when I enter the IP adress directly...

Sounds like a firewall (or firewall software) is getting in the way, and blocking the necessary ports.

Hi Toni!

I have made no changes to my System Configuration and then tried on a new, clean OS installation without any Firewall or Firewall Software in the Network... :-(

;@WORK disable_emplode=1

If you have it set for "Work" mode (instead of "Home" -- Hijack menu), then..

And I wondered all the time and used the slow USB connection instead...

Anyway, thanks a lot for your hint! ;-)

Good! I figured that was what it must be.
