Telnetd & HTTPD on Empeg MK2 ??? - 23/07/2000 07:07
I like to know if someone could successfully install a telnet-server and a httpd-server into empeg ?
Would it not be nice to have the MK2 in the network to listen to the files via a web-browser ???

So far, I've succesfully installed a skeleton debian-image onto my empeg. I can start processes such as inetd, but right now, I'm at a point where I've got inetd running, I can open a connection to the empeg from either itself or another machine (via telnet or ftp) and it connects, but just sits there. I look at the process list, and I can see the in.ftpd or in.telnetd running, its just not spewing any data back to the client. I *can* however ftp/telnet FROM the empeg to another site successfully.
Any ideas anyone?

I would also suggest to install a small debian-dist. (look at empeg.mars.org)
I´m currently running a webserver on my empeg:

Maybe I am stating the obvious here, but it sounds like a DNS issue (empeg is trying to figure out who you are). Have you tried adding your computers IP to the empegs hosts file?
