hi-jackin' rio car player's HD? - 24/01/2004 11:32

Hi, any1 knows how to hi-jack rio car player's HD so I can extract all of the mp3 I've compiled over the years?
I'd really apreciate some help, since there's noway in emplode software to copy mp3's back to my computer's HD...even more so since I switched to Mac and its no longer compatible.

Jemplode can do this. See the link along the top of the page for the download.

Well, in emplode, you right click on a playlist and select "download"... I am not as sure about jemplode...

Pretty much the same steps in jEmplode. You might want to set the directory it dumps the MP3s into though. It's in the settings panel somewhere.

I'll be weird and instead suggest you install Hijack (link above) and then use the web server it provides to fetch all the files back. I use wget routinely to suck content off mine.

How can you say that? For reference, here is the FAQ entry that describes how to do exactly that. Also, there are related entries here and here.

Perhaps its the old software. That didn't allow to you copy any music.

If by Mac, you mean "Macintosh computers", then yes. The Java version of emplode, Jemplode, has the same feature plus some enhancements. As described in the FAQ entries I linked.
