Which way is faster?

I'm transfering gobbs of FID's to my players since my recent HD upgrades. I've restored the fids on my main player and one other but still working on restoring/synchronising at least 2 other players at the moment. It's nearly 85gb worth of FID's so using WsFTP takes a VERY LONG TIME. Would it be faster to use one of the players to transfer the info from drive to drive by installing one of the new drives and the drive I want to copy from my main player into one unit and doing the "cp -auvfx /driveX/fids /driveX/" thing? If I remember right, when I upgrqaded my main player I did this and it transferred roughly 24gb in 7 hours or so. If this is right, it's about 3 times faster than what I'm getting with WsFTP right now.

Yes, you can copy the fids directly with two drives in the same player. Yes, that will be faster than FTP. Instructions on exactly how to do this are in the disk upgrade guide.
