Ignition sense & car remote problem - 30/08/2000 05:48

Hi !

As you may remember, a while ago i posted my problem with my car lock remote in the "bugs" section.
I reported, that whenever my empeg is in standby or switched on, my AUDI car lock remote doesn't work, someone else reported the same problem on his BMW.

Then also the ignition switch also didn't work for me ( the empeg should go from standby to power off after 60 secs when ignition is off, am i right )

From reading the latest articles i learned that VW ISO swaps permanent & ignition cables.

So i thought "Well, that's probably the same for AUDI" and i swapped the cables.

THAT SOLVED MY CAR LOCK REMOTE PROBLEM !!!

Now, if the empeg is on, standby, or off, my car lock radio remote works fine !!!

Yahoooooooooooooooo !

And the ignition features power on/off work too, of course !!

Nils

Man i am glad that this strange lock remote problem is solved ...

Ignition ON, empeg booted, empeg plays a track after i hit a button.
then i send empeg to standby via holding the up key.
turning off ignition.
waiting .... ( 3 minutes ) empeg still in standby ...

Mine works as following:

Play track... switch to standby...turn off ignition...still in standby... for 60 seconds, then it powers down totally.

OR:

Play track...turn off ignition...empeg goes to standby...for 60 seconds, then it powers down totally.

Maybe your wiring has still a problem cause the empeg should come to totally power off after switching of ignition. Or have you also tried to pull out the key? maybe then it looses the ignition-power and the empeg switches off. If not your wiring IS wrong and you have the batt connected to the ignition sense. Try it.

The time delay from ignition off to empeg going to total power off (not standby) is configurable in emplode - default is 180 seconds I think.

Isn't it 60 seconds? - Well I should stop the time to totally power down with a chronograph..
