So my harddrive died, and i decided to replace it with 2 20 gig hdd's. I downloaded the car2-builder-20011022.upgrade and
i'm getting this error when i run the wizard
Error "Bad Pump response" Occured during stage 0x25
I changed the ide cable just in case. I don't know what else it could be, i'm also refering to the Rio Car Disk Upgrade Guide
on riocar.org same thing happens
any ideas?

from that site I did all that, tried downloading the car2-builder-20011022.upgrade file again, cable works. The Hdd's are brand new right out of the box and out of a laptop..... oh and i tried a new ac adapter from my other empeg. any other ideas

I don't think the empeg does CSEL, I don't think it's that problem. The elephant I'm talking about is

No go Tony, I put it into my other empeg that works and still getting the same error. It's the hdd's doesn't like the toshiba hdd's

Are you trying to build each of the two new 20 gig drives individually? (i.e, with only one plugged in)

When you swapped players, did you also swap hard drives?
