Region for Tuner: US or Europe?

Region for Tuner: US or Europe? - 14/01/2008 11:39

I just got the tuner going, and notice that with the AM stations, if I search for a frequency like 702 kHz, I get 700.

I have the Region Set as US. I'm in Australia. Would anyone know whether Australia is like US or Europe.

Of course I can do the A-B test, but thought I'd consult the brains trust first.

The skip button only jumps in increments of 10. So "fine-tuning" from 700 up gets me 710, even though the station is 702.

I think that the EU/USA toggle only affects the FM band, not the AM band.

Anyone else know better ?

Also, the datasheet for the MicroTune module (the guts of the Empeg radio/tuner) indicate a reference frequency of 10KHz, so I suppose that might mean that it can only tune in 10KHz increments (AM).

Australia uses 9kHz increments for AM. You definitely need it set to Europe (or whatever the non US setting is)

It definitely steps in 9kHz units correctly for me in Australia.

Thanks, I just set it to Europe and have the AM stations on frequency now.

Interestingly, 576 AM was showing and playing at 580. It now is clear and shows 576.

Another station 702 stayed on 700 till I did the search and save thing.

Thanks to all
