Mk2 memory chips - 04/01/2009 01:47

Hi everyone,

I've been out of the empeg scene for some years. Long story short, I had to remove all my sound gear from my car a few years ago and, until recently, haven't had the inclination to touch it again since. Last night I finally pulled my lonely empeg off the shelf and started it up for first time in, oh, 4 years? I can attest that it stores well! Everything as I left it, even the flakey volume knob that was needing replacing back then.

I spent an hour replacing the worn rotary encoder and she's as good as new now. I'm keen to try upgrade to 16 MB so thought I'd take a shot at finding memory chips. Does anyone still have or know of a source for Mk2 chips? My unit uses the Samsung variety. Any help appreciated!

BTW, great to see so many of you and so many empegs still going strong!

They're the same chips as the ones used in the S1 TiVo memory upgrade if that'll make it any easier for you.

Aren't those the chips compatible with Mk2a units? Got an Mk2 here...

Ah maybe. Ignore me then if it is a Mk2 unit as I've no idea about those.
