Aux input continuous clicking sound, player is fine - 19/01/2011 13:31

I was hoping someone could help me with this issue, as I'm a little stumped.

I recently reinstalled my Empeg into a car, and am trying to connect a PIE iPod to RCA adapter to the Empeg AUX inputs.

When I set the source to AUX, I get a continual loud clicking/popping noise, at intervals of about 1/3 or 1/2 second. When sourcing from the player itself, things sound great. If I disconnect the PIE adapter and just leave the AUX leads dangling, I still get the continual clicking noise. The fact that this happens also leads me to believe it is not a ground issue.

Player is upgraded to 2.01 and the latest hijack.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Do you hear the clicking noise when the care engine is OFF, so the player is running entirely on battery?

Do you hear the noise when the player is in your home, powered by the AC Adapter?

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply... been TOO busy.

The clicking noise persists on car battery.

Also, when powered by AC adapter it does the same thing. Connecting the speaker outputs from either the built-in RCAs or dock RCAs makes no difference. In dock or out of dock makes no difference.

I would suspect your sled and empeg earth are poor.
