Install into Mk2 MR2 - question

I noticed from the archives that someone has installed in Empeg into an MR2, which has a double-din hole. However, the sled is not normally used and the stereo is screwed directly onto the frame in the car. Does the sled fit ok in the MR2 or will I have to cut the dash up a bit?

Will the Empeg fit where the Sony is, bearing in mind the Sony isn't using a sled.

I guess this will be similar to the mounts used in my Supra. It was a little awkward fitting the sled - I had to drill out the adjustment slots in the side plates, allowing them to move further apart. I also had to cut out the dash surround a little, because of the annoying ISO security system that Toyota seem to have standardised on.

It didn't take much time and you can't tell that there has been any rework, but if I ever had to refit the factory radio I would need to get a DIN surround (as used in cars which do not have the ISO security overlap).
