DAB on MKII q's - 01/12/1999 00:42

For the MKII there was some talk for a DAB tuner, do you have more details on that since i'm keen on getting the DAB interface once avalible.
My q's:
- When ? Roughly...
- What are you plans to support besides audio ? There is more on DAB...
- Will this be a OEM tuner or your own product ? If OEM, which vendor ?

So many questions all the time...TA, Jo

I hate to write this when I try so hard to convince people I know what I'm talking about.... but what's a DAB tuner?

DAB is the european standard for digital radio. It broadcasts MPEG2 streams at up to 320kbit - it's been broadcasting for a couple of years now, though the tuners are still pretty expensive - about $1500 for a cd/dab tuner combo I think.

We're using a DAB module, which means we have limited access to the digital datastream (we get all the audio, but we can't get full-rate digital downloads).
