Hard Boot Command? - 14/02/2000 11:06
Is there a way to hard-boot the player from software? So that it goes through the full bootup procedure as if the power had just been applied?
I'm guessing there's something you could type at the command prompt if you're running the developer image, but what about the consumer image? When I "Q" the consumer image, it soft-boots without going through the full procedure.

Among other things, so I can see the bootup screen without having to reach around the back and fiddle with the power plug.

In Linux you normaly type 'shutdown now' and it is located in /sbin/
Anoter posibility is to set a diffrent runlevel
'init 0' = hallt
'init 1' = singelmode
'init 6' = reboot
