Missing serial cable, or D'oh - 18/03/2000 12:18

Hey,

I went to upgrade my empeg today and realized, GASP - I can't find my serial cable.. so here's a question so I can purchase a new one...

Is this a standard null-model serial cable?

Let me know,

I think so. I scrounged an extra cable to hook it up to my second computer, and it worked without a hitch. I don't even know if the extra cable was anything special, it was just a 9-pin that I found lying around with the right connectors.

You could simply try one. The worst thing it could do is not work.

sigh; I'm about to go out of town but really wanted the new visuals.. I guess I'll drop by radioshack and buy both kinda of cable - that's why they have the return policy, after all...

BTW - just to confirm, the necessary cable is indeed a 9pin-9pin female NULL serial cable...

I think you meant NULL _modem_ there. A NULL serial cable could be either or nothing :)
