Empeg "learn button idea" - 27/02/2002 07:37

Since mlord is now working on button translations for the IR, stalk and serial inputs, I thought I'd throw out an idea that might help those who don't wish to mess with config.ini. or so translations can be done in vehicle. Also, since I'm not a programmer I don't know the technical feasability of this idea. Anyway, if a button push from a ir remote, steering wheel remote or other aux. input device can be captured by the empeg as a code allow the option to push a button on the empeg remote which then saves the translation (instead of modifying the config file).

For example: hook up a steering wheel remote via the tuner. Then push the mute button on the tuner, capture a code and finally push the attenuate button on the empeg remote to finish the translation. I know it's not hard to modifiy the config file but I thought it might be an idea some people like. Of course the final word on the subject is from mlord

So I guess it isn't technically feasible.

In config.ini, where else. You have the ability to mount the drives RW for a brief period. Just tell people not to do IR translations while offroading.
