Can the Central 1.10 support the Rio Cali? - 01/01/2004 23:20

I was reading over the release notes for 1.10 software update for Rio Central, I see that it now supports the S-type of portable mp3 players. Does anyone know that if it will support the Rio Cali?

I'm not sure about the s-series, but portable support was the item that was possibly broken by the 1.10 release (and why it wasn't released before). I have a psa[play, I'll see if that works. It's not an s-series, but I'd think the chances are higher if the psa[play works.

I'd test it right now, but I'm currently copying all my music to the central and I don't want to touch it until it's done.

I was able to transfer music to my psa[play. I think I did see the "bug" that held back this release. The failure was very minor, and failed as gracefully as one could hope for. It gave me an error message, and let me try the transfer over again. Upon retry, it worked fine. I tried to reproduce it, but was unable.

I'd gladly trade rebadged rio receiver support and the reboot problem during multi-cd mode for this extremely minor issue.

Plus, it might have been there all along, since I've really only hooked up the psa[play 3 other times.

So, I just got a Rio Cali. I plugged it into my central and nothing. Nothing happens at all! Oh well, it was worth a shot to see if it worked.

Is there any open-source software that supports Cali transfers under linux?
