I've been reading a few of the post. Can the Central stream mp3 over the internet? Is it possible?

You mean "from the Internet"? Or "to the Internet"?

The first is not supported by the stock player, and will require some third party player software. There was a guy on here looking at writing some. I don't know how far he's getting.

The second -- sorta-kinda. Not really. See this page for hints on how you might do something like this.

Here's an update on the "from the internet" software. I have a functional copy. It's a bit rough around the edges. I have a workable installer also, I just have to get all the code up on sourceforge, and I'll relase it. I'm expecting to be done in about a week or two.

BTW, how many people are interested in using this?

Right now I'm trying to sort out all the dependencies, patches to 3rd party software, etc, so that I have a repeatable build process.

Hello, i am a new rio central owner (and not linux savvy at all) and so far love it. I would like to know if you have ever distributed your program that permits my computer to stream music to the rio to play from the internet. Thanks
