Can't restore as new

I found my recovery cd but I still get an error. When I put the disk in it comes up apply upgrade. I choose that then it says restore to "as new" or upgrade now. I choose restore as new and get the warning. I choose restore to "as new" and I get the error :

There was an error applying the upgrade (status 0xc0044000) CD may be damaged or incorrectly written.

I can still read audio cd so I would think the cd-rom is working ok ?

Any ideas ?

Will it let you "upgrade"? I believe "restore as new" will wipe all your music.

Nope I get the same error with the upgrade. The cd says it has 1.02 on it.

I can make an image of the original disc if you want.

I was using the original disk that came with my central. It has 1.02 on it what version does your disk have ?

I don't know. It doesn't say on the disc. I would assume it's the same.

I was figuring you might want it if your disc is damaged.
