Motorola m500 Firmware

I know some of you were involved in the m500 test late last year/early this year and I wanted to see if anyone knows if the firmware on Motorola's page for the m500 is the final fimrware used in testing.

Reason Im asking is that I just picked up a new m500 and the thing reboots at the drop of a dime. My test unit was really stable with the later firmware versions and the retail unit just isnt. I was going to email Motorola and see but I thought I'd ask here first.

Just out of curiosity, what firmware is on the unit out of the box? I see that the Motorola site has a version 1.01 posted, but a little bird once told me something about a 1.02 release.

The aforementioned little bird doesn't have the release notes anymore for some reason, so I can't say what was supposed to be fixed in 1.02. It does appear that it never was qualified for release, but I'd guess that was due to lack of interest on Motorola/Rio's part rather than any problems with that release. That little bird has been running 1.02 on his player successfully for a year now without problems.

1.01 is whats on my player and most likely my beta player, which I dont have anymore had 1.02.

1.01 is HORRIBLY unstable. The player constantly reboots or goes to sleep and never wakes up. My beta unit never did this.. it was so reliable it was insane.

I've emailed Motorola about this and 1.01 is all they have so I guess I'm SOL unless I can find someone from the beta program who still has the 1.02 release exe.
