A couple of jEmplode suggestions - 27/05/2004 13:55

First, it seems impossible to unmark a track using jEmplode.

Second, it would be nice if I could import multiple tracks without having to create a new playlist. I might want to import five new tracks into an existing playlist and that currently requires either using a temporary playlist or using the import dialog five times. (Since I can't use drag-and-drop.)

Odd. I have no trouble dragging and dropping onto Jemplode to add tracks to an existing playlist. Perhaps there's something different about the way we're each doing it?

Yup. We're using different operating systems.

Okay, to be more specific, for some reason, every Java implementation I've seen for Unix fails to implement drag-and-drop for the OS correctly. Or, rather, they're using a relatively ancient system for doing drag-and-drop that hardly anyone ever used and that no one uses any more.

This is fixed in 1.5 -- Thank God ... You could probably download the 1.5 early access and it might work.

jEmplode has always had issues updating the dynamic data partition for some reason. I actually am not able to do this in Emplode either. It's unclear whether it used to work and then jEmplode somehow corrupted things or if there is some more fundamental problem. Not sure.

I could probably make the import tunes file dialog multiple select ... Not sure why it isn't, actually. Maybe it is?

I can do a multiple select, but it only adds one.

And as far as unmarking, the marked property is listed on the Advanced tab in properties. The unmarked tracks have no value in that field. I am unable to clear the field manually, though. I can set it to other things, but that's not apparently the right thing to do. If I clear it out and click okay, it just reverts to whatever was in there. So I can't even really get to the point of testing it accurately, since the UI doesn't work right.

isn't marked a checkbox on the second tab of the properties dialog?

So it is.

Which is not to say it will actually work any better .... But at least it has a pretty UI for not working
