Palantir: Could not initialize library

Palantir: Could not initialize library - 27/03/2006 22:24

I was trying to get Palantir working, but when I select the "Beam" option, it always just says "Could not initialize library" in a popup on the Palm itself. The application seems to work fine otherwise. It's on a Treo 600. I'd be happy to provide further info, but I don't know what that could be right now.

Is it the version from my website, or one you downloaded from the BBS? The alpha I posted a few months ago might do that but I'm not sure why the regular version (1.00) would. Let me know and I'll look into it further. The issue is probably loading the IrDA library, and there might be a weird way I'm calling it but it _should_ work.

I found a few links that might explain what you are seeing:

Thread from spug.net
Palm KB article on the error

They are basically saying that any software running in the background (like IR keyboard drivers) could interfere with opening the IrDA library that I use to beam in Palantir. One way you could test this is by attempting to beam anything else (like a Contact or a Note) from the stock applications. If you still get the error try to track down any other hack/driver that might have the IrDA port locked up.

Yeah. It was the damned keyboard driver. Nevermind.
