S3 and source releases?

Anyone care to speculate about the future of empeg hacking now that S3 has agreed to buy Empeg (see www.empeg.com for the headline)? The Empeg guys have been really cool about releasing source and specs and in general helping people out on this board. I hope it doesn't change now that a big company is involved!

I don't see this changing - we've released the parts we have released under the GPL, and they're there to stay. Obviously, the player software remains closed source and this is very unlikely to change - but that was the case previously too.
