Hijack help - 27/01/2002 13:20

OK... whenever I install hijack, it fails to boot.

I am using developer 2.07b for emplode, and 1.51 for hijack.
Whenever I flash Hijack I get:

empeg-car bootstrap v1.02 20001106 ([email protected])
If there is anyone present who wants to upgrade the flash, let them speak now,
or forever hold their peace...it seems not. Let fly the Penguins of Linux!

e000 v1.04
Copying kernel...
Calling linux kernel...
(data abort vector)

and NOTHING else... anyone else having an issue? Know wtf I'm doing wrong?

Your downloaded copy of Hijack is most likely corrupted. Use a download manager utility such as GetRight to grab the file, instead.

Also make sure you're getting the correct file. You could be clicking on something other than a kernel. Or maybe you're using the Mk1 version of the kernel or something.

Weeeeird.... When I download in Opera, I get 503,217 bytes. When I download in Netscape, I get 489,444. In IE, I get the right size. Works like a champ now. Thanks so much.

I just HATE using Microsloth products.

Far be it from me to defend MS, but if the MS product is the one that worked right, why do you hate it?

Sorry it took so long to reply. I was installing my amps and Empeg over the last couple of days. Let me tell you, installing in a 2000 Mustang is a pain in the you know what. Not enough space to do ANYthing.

Anyway. I hate IE -STRICTLY- because it's an MS product. (Well, hate is a strong word, I just refuse to use it unles I absolutely HAVE to.)

BTW all, thanks to some great tips I got here, my unit now sounds better than ANY cd-player I ever had installed. Absolutely zero hiss, pops, or humms. I love it. I can crank it all the way to zero, my ears hurt, but nothing's distorted. Crystal clear.

Thanks

Mason
