Hijack v187

Hijack v187 - 07/02/2002 09:30

Hijack v187 is released. Changes include:
  • Hijack "splash" no longer overlays first frames of Tony's excellent Waving-Tux animation.
  • "Knob Rotate Redefinition" feature has been nuked.
  • A new "virtual" button "KnobSeek" has been added. When used (eg. from a PopUp) this causes the "knob" to act like the "Next/Prev" track buttons for a short while, for navigating a playing-playlist or tuner presets.
  • I have fixed the Empeg kernel flash driver to not do long busy-waits, so that the player and buttons can still function while accessing flash (eg. burning a new kernel).

    Enjoy!

    Note that my original (now edited) v187 announcement incorrectly said "KnobJog"; the new button name is actually "KnobSeek".

    I totally dig the versatility of the new popup menus for hijack, but is there a way to have the KnobSeek definition remain permanant, rather than temporary when it has been accessed?

    Thanks for all the great work!

    Yes:

    [ir_translate]
    KnobLeft=Left
    KnobRight=Right

    I have never tried this, but it should work.

    Alright, when these settings are applied, a rotation of the knob to the right does nothing, and a rotation to the left results in a reverse seek of the track...

    Well, so the LEFT direction is working (it's doing exactly what you asked for, though you may not have asked for the Right Thing(tm) ).

    I'll look briefly at the RIGHT rotation to see what's up there.

    Okay, bugs fixed. It works for me in v196.

    Okey, it does work in the player mode, but the redefinition takes over all functions. For instance, if I do the long press to get into the Hijack menu, it won't allow the knob rotate to switch between the options in the menu itself...but it does work perfectly with the default empeg menu (playlists, visuals, info, about, etc.).
