Matching Hijack to the right Empeg kernel version - 10/03/2002 11:37

Hey Mark -- Hijack specifies 2b11 in the filename... Am I correct in assuming that if 2b12 comes out that Hijack will not necessarily be backwards/forwards compatible? So I shouldn't automatically upgrade an Empeg with 2.0b11 if the latest version on your website is, say, a 2b12? Is there anyway to ask Hijack (something like a /proc/empegversion) what the current value is, so I can build the right filename to look for?

Or am I totally wrong, and it's always OK to upgrade to the latest Hijack no matter what?

The current Hijack kernel is compatible with ALL of the v2beta releases thus far, and this is unlikely to be any different with the next beta.
