Excellent stereo Installation Site

Excellent stereo Installation Site - 31/07/2000 10:53

http://www.installdr.com

Gives total breakdowns on all kinds of car and how to remove the stereos and install aftermarket stereos and amps.

Lots of technical documents on amps, ohms... even on replacing factory premium stereos. I looked for 4 cars and the only one that wasn't in their installation section was my Girlfriends sisters 2000 Celica.

Nice site and all the information is in Adobe .PDF format which makes for great printouts.

Try it... you can praise me for this link after you check it out (shameless plug for myself I know... )

Good site. Thanks for the link.

Do you know if it has specific diagrams for removal of body panels/dash plates for a given car? I got those instructions for my car from Crutchfield, and they were absolutely invaluable: Worth their weight in gold.

Somewhat, I haven't explored all the site, but I believe I did find some body panel instructions. Unfortunately there isn't much info on where to put amps in different makes of cars (can't expect too much I guess ) or much detail on the speaker installations. I would love to see all the body panel removal instructions.

Enjoy the site. I already have... too bad it didn't have instructions for that 97 Cavalier I disassembled tonight.

#170... I got my order invite and I have ordered my 12 gig blue!!! YAAAAHHHHOOOOOOO

That is the most thorough "free" install documentation I have ever seen. After taking my car dash apart 5 times I know the problems associated. This documentation addressed every little problem and had a solution. It also helped me with finding the antenna wire from my old connector (2 wires actually) I've asked 3 installation shops and none of them got it right. Whew... I can listen to the radio now without static.

Excellent site, highly recommended by me too. Thanks so much!!!

Unbelievable that they wouldn't have an absolute mainstay of the car audio industry like my 1986 Ford Taurus Station Wagon!

Or Renault, Twingo or otherwise...

Or a Ferrari ... Those are the moments I'm happy that I don't have one...

Which reminds me... I once ended up in Vienna (on a business trip, no less) in an ancient Russian contraption called Moskwitch. It decided it was a nice place to fry that thing that chops the current through ignition coil primary winding, stranding me there. I managed to limp to a large repair shop, where an old and wise mechanic, after looking it over, said thoughfully: "You know, there is something this Moskwitch has in common with Rolls Royce: there are VERY few of them in Vienna." (He managed to fix it quickly and at reasonable cost anyway.)

Cheers!

Re: Excellent stereo Installation Site - 11/08/2000 13:35

It really sucks to be you guys. This site is probably put up by a regular car audio installation business and they update it as they see different cars. (thats my guess) So they are slowly filling in the spaces. They had very complete installation instructions for my vehicle. So they may not have your vehicle but if they do it is a very good resource. Oh did I mention its FREE. They are doing the car audio world a favor. If your vehicle is not listed, just remember you get what you pay for.

I think it's a good site, too bad they suck.

No we're all just playing around... don't take us too seriously.
