Acura MDX - 30/08/2004 13:01

I think I will be getting a 2002 Acura MDX with Bose system and Nav. It sucks that it has a Bose system I guess, but I can't really find an answer why. Do the Bose systems typically have one amp or is there an amp at every speaker? If it's one amp I would assume bypassing it would be easy.

Does anyone have an empeg installed in this car? It has a cassette player and 6 disc in-dash stereo. Being an in-dash changer, I doubt the stereo has the CD changer hookup that can be converted to an auxilary input. The Nav system is seperate from the stereo, but the Nav talks through the stereo speakers. I think I may have to FM modulate this empeg install.

I just saw this Blitzsafe aux in adapter used on the same stereo as mine. I'll probably just do that and mount the empeg under the stock unit. What pins on the mlord docking stations are jumpered to force the output to 0db? I guess I would need to do that also.

That can be set in software, you don't need to jumper pins.

That's cool, but it's likely this empeg will switch between my SVX and MDX so hardware is probably better since it will be able to alter its behavior depending on the car.

Ah, I see. So you want it to force AC/Home mode with the jumper in place? I think that was the purpose of the jumper.

yeah. I have an mlord dock here, but I'd rather not take it apart. Or maybe I don't have to? I'll take a look....
