Audi A4 Installation - 19/07/2001 02:13

Hello,

I hava an Audi A4 Limousine/Sedan (model 99). I'd like to remove the original radio "Concert" (non BOSE) and replace it by an EMPEG.
The speakers on the back are self powered. The ones in the front not.
Therefore I need an additional amplifier to drive them.
Does anybody have an idea, where to place this, since I don't need a powerful amp for the front speakers.

An other question is:
Does anybody have an idea, how to support the board computer by the EMPEG to diplay information such as ID3tag in the boardcomputer display. It could be done through a serial converter from the EMPEG...

Thanks for your help!

I don't really know the audi's internals. But maybe you could mount an amp behind the dash. you could try to unmount the car's carpet-floor where it's mounted on the bottom-side of the dash.
Then there should be enough space where you can mount an amp.
Or try to unmount the glove-box (usually 2 or 3 screws) and behind it you could find some space, too.

I don't know if there's a way to show the tags via the boardcomputer's display. I had the same problem with my peugeot but didn't succeed. But maybe there's someone out there with a working solution..
