sorry, pin outs for iso connector - 15/02/2002 15:33

Ok, I know this information is probably somewhere. I did find some basic info in the manual, which reads:
black - ground
yellow-power
orange-ignition sense
white-headlites sense
blue-amp on
green-mute

but which colors are used for audio out front l/r rear l/r?
For the life of me, I cant find this? Do I have to connect to the RCA jacks?

sorry, I did look for the info ! I swear!

Yes the empeg does not supply its own amp so you need the RCAs.

the rca jacks on the sled are the audio outs there are no speaker level outputs

hmm. are you saying that on the sled itself, there are RCA jacks to permanently wire into the amp? I thought that the audio out signals would have to be taken off that special ISO connector at the back of the sled..what am I missing?

the rca audio outs are on the connector attatched to the back of the sled (the empty box you install in the car not the empeg itself) not the iso connector

just take a look at the sled you will see them they are even marked

The ISO connector carries the power/ground lines, remote out (amp on), telephone mute, dimmer etc. but no audio signals. On HUs that have speaker level outputs and ISO connector(s), the speaker signals normally are in a second connector (or the two are joined for on bigger connector).

The audio signals from the empeg in the car are through the 4 RCA output connectors on the sled (there are also 2 RCAs for AUX in). So yes, you need to hook up the RCAs from the sled to the amp(s).
