The boot-up sound is the first thing I disable in Windows (before moving on to disable every single other cutesy feature of the OS). Why would I want my Empeg to do the same thing?

Because you'd want it to play the "Empeg -- It really whips the penguin's ass." MP3, of course!

I envision it like the show "Knight Rider" where i have a mp3 of one of my women saying "Hello.. Make your self comfortable .. all systems are operational".

which would impress my friends and stuff.. which is all a shallow fellow like me is concerned about!

Okay, three things:

1) I hope that by "One of my women", you mean "Either my wife or daughter". (Unless you're in Utah.)

2) If you mention Knight Rider again, I'll be forced to kill you.

3) If it says "All systems are operational", wouldn't that just be an assumption? (Then again, a serial interface with the car's ignition system computer, combined with a little software, could go a long way towards rectifying that...)

He drives a Jeep doesn't he? I think that automatically inducts you into pimpdom.
