Theft Protection programming request

I just thought of this, how hard would it be to program up a small program, that would run on home a/c power when the empeg gets an ip address. It would try and connect a database server, and post its ip address.
This way, if the empeg gets stolen, and the theft by chance plugs it into the net. We could track his ip address. I just thought of this, and i thought i was a good idea. I would be happy to host the database if someone were to create the program.

Read this thread. intwined in there is info about the problems with this idea, which has been discussed at least a few times on the board. =]
