cross-fade on pause/play

The track to track cross-fade in 3a7 is now making the pause/play seem jarring. Perhaps adding cross-fade from/to silence as an optional feature would be cool?

While I'm dreaming: how about including overlap (so that it fades-in from the beginning of where you faded it out, instead of from the silent point) as well?

Why not make a track of complete silence and simply select that track instead of pausing/stopping

However, I agree, and I would like to add this when I can make the time.
