New Paulway mix - 08/11/2001 00:48

I wish Paulway would crawl out of the woodwork and create another lengthy masterpiece like the Infinity Mix 1

Re: New Paulway mix - 08/11/2001 04:53

Very flattering, I'll notify him of this.

He's been busy with work and moving house & stuff.

He was in england for a month, last month, on business. Didn't have time to scratch tho.
Last I heard he was going to do some mixes of Oz music so I leant him my Sonic Animation, bexta and stuff other CD's. He doesn't have time to trawl thru the wealth of posts any more so I send him updates. business is slow for me at the moment

Does anyone know where I can get Paul Way's stuff?

Re: New Paulway mix - 09/11/2001 05:10

by coincidence, new stuff is on the way.
It's aparrently a bit more ambient adn he's just looking for a better finish to it. The guy who hosted it for him last time has moved on so is there anyone who would be willing to host it for a few weeks or so?

Re: New Paulway mix - 09/11/2001 06:10

Yes, it's true; my brother told me about Drakino's request about four days after I have broken a long drough of not mixing at all. It's an ambient mix, more relaxed than a chillout but still not completely void. And I just came up with the perfect ending to it, so I'm happy with it again.

If anyone has space for about 60MB of mix (~160kbps VBR) then I'd gladly upload it. The big warning is that the bandwidth usage for these mixes can be extreme - I think we had about ten people simultaneously downloading it from the last site it was hosted at (whose owner's name I can no longer remember, sorry :-)), most of them with cable modems. Then after a week it died off and after a month or two it was very rare to find any activity on it at all. Anyone wanting to host the entire collection can expect about 600MB of files total. For those more desperate for an individual copy, sending me money via PayPal (to [email protected]) and an address will get you a burnt CD with all my mixes to date :-)

I hope all those artists appreciate the money I've paid buying these albums so I can end up promoting their work.

A full track listing will be available when I have finished it and some kind person has donated some space for it.

As usual, email me on the above address with any comments, suggestions or greets.

Have fun,

Paul

If nothing better turns up I'd put it on my machine. It's only connected
with 768kbps upload (ADSL) though, so it'd be likely to be crowded...
But I tend to keep the machine connected 24/7.

Re: New Paulway mix - 12/11/2001 08:59

Right. I'm uploading the file now to the main site hosted by Drakino. I would encourage those people who have the capability to let me know if they're willing to be listed as additional proxies for the file. Partly it helps share the load, and it saves me from coming up with a pseudo-tricky system for moderating the bandwidth usage on the primary site...

Those interested can find the track listing at:

http://www.geocities.com/Athens/9791/spinnjam.html

When I get the mix uploaded and confirmed I'll let everyone know.

Thanks

OK, the mix is at:

http://riocar.org/music/PaulWaySpinAndJamAmbient.mp3

Please let me know if you're able to mirror it to cut down the load on Drakino's hosting equipment.

AS always, let me know what you think of it!

Have fun,

Paul

Cool stuff.

Nice trippy, mellow sound you got going on.

Kinda reminds me of FSOL.

This new mix is way cool. Is there any way to get ahold of the previous mix(es)?

Re: New Paulway mix - 15/11/2001 15:18

Yeah me too. :) Where can we get the previous ones?

Re: New Paulway mix - 15/11/2001 17:28

The current mix 'set' is: (Links to their respective playlists)

Infinity Mix (3:56:55 / 272.7MB)
Aleph One (1:11:41 / 95.9MB)
Transcriptions Mid Trance Mix (1:00:09 / 65.3MB)
Club Mix One (49:24 / 46.7MB)
Spin & Jam Ambient Mix (58:07 / 69.4MB)

If you want the entire collection on one CD-R I'd be happy to sent it to you for a nominal donation (cost of CD and postage, really) via PayPal to [email protected]. Let me know your name and address and we'll work something out.

Alternatively, if Drakino is willing to put the rest of the collection (which AFAIK he has downloaded) on the RioCar.org site, then that'd be cool too.

How about it, Drakino?

Have fun,

Paul

P.S. I've started compiling the music for the next mix, which is to be an all-Australian techno mix. People who know the Infinity Mix will recognise good chunks of it...

P.P.S. The club mix is still sort of a work in progress; I don't consider it complete yet. So I haven't been arsed to write up a full track listing. Pester me for it and I may do so.

I've got most of these and they're shared when I'm logged onto Morpheus or Kazaa, so feel free to do a search for it on them. If anyone begins downloading them, I'll make sure I don't log off the service. I'm on a DSL line, but it's only a 512k upstream speed.

I'd love to do this down the road, but for now the server that RioCar.org is on dosen't have much free space. I do have all the others downloaded somewhere, but my version of the Infinity Mix is corrupt towards the end (around the last 40 mins for a short bit if I remember right).

In reply to:

Sorry, but that's the mark of authenticity. Unfortunately the MP3 encoder that I used to do the big file had a problem at around the 2GB mark in the original 2.7GB wave file. That's now the only copy I have, so there the bits of static will stay.

I'll see if I can arrange alternative hosting with Synergy - will keep everyone posted.

Have fun,

Re: New Paulway mix - 06/12/2001 16:24

Good news, everyone! The University's hauling me up on disciplinary charges! Wait, that's not good news at all... (/obFuturama)

The good news is that Synergy's kindly put (just about) all my mixes on a subdomain just for me: you can find them at:

http://paulway.d0gz.net.

The title page has links to each mix and its track listing. Coming soon; low bitrate previews, and a full-bitrate preview of the all-new Antipodean mix (219kbps! - that's what Lame decided it was worth!)

Have fun,

Paul

Re: New Paulway mix - 06/12/2001 16:28

Damn you, brother of mine, for leaving yourself logged in on my computer after visiting me for the weekend. My your nose bifurcate, your head depilate, your ears dessicate, and your breath be comparable to the smell downwind of a compost heap on fire!

Yours sincerely,

Paul
