Finding all playlists that a song is in. - 16/01/2002 08:32

I guess this is more of a newbie question than a Wish... but if it isn't possible, I wish it was!

I re-encoded a CD of mine... Meat Beat Manifesto's "Satyricon". I was about to delete the songs off of the empeg, paste in the new ones and sync when I noticed that one of the songs has a Ref count of 2.... but I cant find that other instance of the song! Ive searched guest appearance, soundtracks, compilations, you name it!

Is there any way to select a song with multiple instances and find out what playlists it is in?

Running 2.07Beat.... and if this is in the FAQ, I'm sorry, I'm re-reading it and printing it out!

Thanks guys.

What I do for this in JEmplode is make a trivial modification to the track (merely selecting Properties and pressing OK is sufficient), and then JEmplode colours all affected playlists red, helping me to find all instances. Dunno if this works with the native Emplode, though, as I don't have Windows.

No. If I can figure out a good way to implement it, then there will be.

As a quick hack, you can delete the track completely. This'll mark the playlist as changed. You can then find the playlist by typing 'changed' into the advanced search dialog. Not much help if your playlist is named 'Disc 1', but it might help.

Roger that will work - thank you.

Is the link at RioCar.org fixed yet for the advanced search descriptions? I tried a few times last week to read it...

Dunno, you'll find it at http://www.differentpla.net/~roger/empeg/car/v2/advanced_search.html, anyway.

It's fixed now

The broken downloads and links are only visible by going into their respective solutions. I'll probably hack that into the menu item admins see for waiting submissions. (Since 9 people reported that one broken )

What link? Where? Is there a broken link in my FAQ?

The web links section had an entry for the advanced search document, and it was broken. I didn't scan the FAQ for any reference to the page, if it's in there, it might be broken.

No Tony, it wasn't in the FAQ, it was in the "Web Links" section.

BTW, talking of bugs at riocar.org, when you are browsing the logos, if you select to show 10 or more logos per screen and then you move to the next page, you get back to 5. Just a small bug...

Double check that you have cookies enabled - it works fine for me.

Yes, what he said. (It uses cookies to remember that setting, and the cookie may be sent from riocar.org, and not www.riocar.org.

I'll look into integrating that preference into user profiles down the road.
